Cycling in London is increasing by 80% every year but 52 bikes are stolen with nearly 440,000 reported stolen a year.

We see the passer-by in a shirt and tie but only two hands, legs and trousers up to the waist of the sunbather, the rest of his upper-body is obscured by the angle of the lens. It is a witty perspective, leading us to believe that the two men are the same person. • A walker passes a pile of assorted plastic materials awaiting removal from the coastal landscape, having been collected by volunteers from a beach on Holy Island, on 27th September 2017, on Lindisfarne Island, Northumberland, England. The amount of rubbish found dumped on UK beaches rose by a third last year, according to a new report. More than 8,000 plastic bottles were collected by the Marine Conservation Society’s annual beach clean-up at seaside locations from Orkney to the Channel Islands on one weekend in September 2016. Holy Island has a recorded history from the 6th century AD; it was an important centre of Celtic and Anglo-saxon Christianity. After the Viking invasions and the Norman conquest of England, a priory was reestablished.

  • With his body in shade and only his head in the sun, a Portuguese man stands in the street of central Lisbon to read the headlines of national and provincial newspapers which are pinned by their top right corners for passers-by to glance at or buy. Lit by early morning sun, the daily or weekly periodicals are set in a neat row for the benefit of this man and other citizens of the Portuguese capital. Ornate square tile mosaics are set in the pavement (sidewalk) in a design style that Lisbon is well-known for. In an age of mass-communications, reading one's media on paper in such a manner already seems old fashioned.
