Urban people are seen below the idyllic scene of rural England, tourists enjoying the peaceful great outdoors with the help of a map and bikes while below are the exact opposite: City dwellers trying to de-stress or keep in touch with the world.

  • Craning their necks skyward, both a pilot and support ground engineers of elite 'Red Arrows', Britain's prestigious Royal Air Force aerobatic team, gaze up to view an air display directly overhead at the Payerne Air 04 show, Switzerland. It is a perfect day for aerobatics with blue skies and during the team's two-day visit to the Swiss airfield at Payerne. Pilot Squadron Leader John Green is one of nine aviators who are collectively known as the Reds because of their famous red flying suits. The ground crew are obviously called the Blues. Payerne is home of the Swiss Air Force who host the cream of international aerobatic display flying every September to 275,000 spectators over a weekend. The picture is full of humour because John Green is looking one way and the two others look in the opposite direction, while standing next to the aircraft. .

  • Good-looking trendy young people spill out of a pub one sunny afternoon in fashionable Notting Hill in West London. Their confidence and sense of fun and living for the moment is seen in their clothes and style. But out-of-sight around the corner on this street stands a rather nervous-looking poor woman, an elderly lady perhaps in her sixties who is holding some shopping bags with her coat buttoned up, despite being warm outside. Her demeanour is that of tiredness and hardship - the opposite of the young generation. There is a wide generation gap here: The division of wealth, health and outlook between these two demographic groups which also symbolises a modern Britain, used to the class system that is alive and well.
