  • Two elderly passengers have stopped by in a retail space called World of Duty Free to taste Scottish Malt Whiskey in Terminal 5 at heathrow Airport. The two South-Africans travel widely across the world to visit their extended family and like to stop by this shop to try the various blends of Scotch with the help of a sales person who helps them decide which bottles to buy. Together they swallow the fine alcohol and taste its delicate and subtle differences. From writer Alain de Botton's book project "A Week at the Airport: A Heathrow Diary" (2009).

  • Stacks of cigarette cartons are piled up in a display of duty free goods at Bahrain International airport . Camel Filters are featured more prominently here to suggest the importance of desert Gulf States like Bahrain in the global market. Bahrain is a key hub airport in the region, providing a gateway to the Northern Gulf. The airport is the major hub for Gulf Air which provides 52% of overall movements. It is also the half-way point between Western Europe and Asian destinations such as Hong Kong and Beijing. Duty free merchandise such as tobacco, jewellery, perfumes and electronics are big business here, favouring cheaper import duties and currency rates. • Catholics read free newspapers to crowds outside Westminster Cathedral before Pope Benedict XVI arrives during his papal tour of Britain 2010, the first visit by a pontiff since 1982. The lady in the foreground with the Harrods bag finds something amusing inside the paper standing on the kerbside in Victoria Street closed to traffic. Taxpayers footed the £10m bill for non-religious elements, which largely angered a nation still reeling from the financial crisis. Pope Benedict XVI is the head of the biggest Christian denomination in the world, some one billion Roman Catholics, or one in six people. In Britain there are about five million Catholics but only a quarter of Catholics regularly attend Sunday Mass and some churches have closed owing to spending cuts.

  • In the 24hrs that a further 38 died from Coronavirus, bringing the total to 41,736, a further easing of the UK’s Covid pandemic lockdown restrictions took place with many high street shops today being allowed to re-open after three months of forced closure. Prime Minister Boris Johnson, wanting to stimulate the economy, has urged people to "shop with confidence" and long queues formed outside the main brands. But unlike on public transport, face coverings are not compulsory so shop floors and shopping practices have had to be adapted to ensure customers’ social distances, amid fears of a second infection wave. A 'Social Distance Ambassador' assists shoppers to take free hand gel sanitiser from one of many dispensers near Selfridges on Oxford Street, on 15th June 2020, in London, England.

Pandemonia states that she is "a 7ft tall personality often seen at exclusive premiers, events and exhibitions. Post pop, conceptual artist, written about in iD, independent and Vogue publications." Otherwise, few have any idea about who or what this cartoon character is, or even how this creature secures an invite to parties, society and art events. The writer Poonperm Paitayawat says ".. She is about branding, self-image and lifestyle. She is tapping into the collective unconsciousness. Pandemonia goes beyond pop art."
