Two days after the killing of the Conservative member of parliament for Southend West, Sir David Amess MP, floral and balloon tributes (from Southend's Muslim community) are left in Eastwood Road North, a short distance from Belfairs Methodist Church in Leigh-on-Sea, on 17th October 2021, in Leigh-on-Sea, Southend , Essex, England. Amess was conducting his weekly constituency surgery when attacked with a knife by Ali Harbi Ali.
