The newly-restored Mendelssohn Sundial now at the site of the former bowling green in Ruskin Park, south London, on 16th November 2021, in Lambeth, London, England. The Mendelssohn Sundial was erected to commemorate the visit of Danish composer Felix Mendelssohn who allegedly stayed at a nearby but now demolished house at 168 Denmark Hill. The terracotta piece is decorated with Tudor roses around the top of the pedestal but the original brass sundial plate is lost. It's inscription once read,‘ Here stood the house where Mendelssohn wrote the Spring Song 1842’. The sundial was restored by London Stone Conservation (LSC) using a replica sundial plate.
